The Department of Political Science of Berhampore Girls’ College has been introduced in 1958 with a realistic approach and with the higher level of objectives, goals and orientations, so far. Since then, Political Science – as an international discipline has been disseminating knowledge among the female students to make them more committed, confident and competent in their practical social, political and economic life. Since its inception, the teachers of the department have had their relentless effort and passionate ardour for creating a positive environment in the department as well as in the institute.
It is worth noting that the students of the department have been consistently maintaining commendable records of good result in the different university examinations. Their incessant interests on their academic business and their academic performance are genuinely commendable.
At present the department has 69 intake capacities as per the regulation of the affiliating university, University of Kalyani and the Department of Higher Education, the Government of West Bengal.
